Massage is sometimes viewed as a luxury that we can occasionally treat ourselves too. We at Lotus Health and Wellness feel that while yes it is a very nice thing to have for casual reasons Massage is truly a difference maker for stress, pain, disease and discomfort management. Our Massage Therapists are all well versed in the ability to identify what is happening in your body and help solve the problems. Of course there is no quick fix and with anything else it takes time and we will work within your schedule to achieve a pain free life.
Some of the things Massage really can influence in your life are Fibromyalgia, Sciatica Nerve problems, RSD/CRPS and normal body aches and pains to name a few. If you live with any of the above mentioned medical issues you know that when flair ups happens you would do anything to achieve relief. Our Massage Therapists are all experienced with these problems and have very aggressive ways to treat them in a fast but thorough way. Obviously we can not guarantee complete cure from any of these issues, however, we believe our process will over time accomplish that in a natural holistic way.
Trigger points are the key to managing all of these and other pain causing problems in our body. A Trigger point is a hypersensitive area within a muscle that when pressed will cause pain. That pain is likely to remain in that area but can move to other spots. How does a Trigger point happen? They happen when overuse or damage to a muscle creates a buildup of toxins which begin to calcify and creates a tender spot also known as a Trigger point. Usually after a few minutes with an experienced Massage Therapist they can eliminate that Trigger point and you will feel immediate relief of pain, improved movement, have a healthier muscle and will feel more strength in the muscle.
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses heated smooth, flat stones that are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work deeper and more efficiently. Hot stone massage is suited to people who tend to feel chilly or who have cold feet. It's also suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage. People also get hot stone massage for a variety of health conditions:

Nicole Cellucci is a licensed massage therapist who graduated from Cortiva Institue in 2011. Nicole began practicing Massage at an early point in her life and appreciates that decision everyday as she truly embraces this career. Being inspired by many life experiences, Nicole felt her calling in life was to help people relax and enter into a peaceful state of mind. Specializing in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point work, Nicole also incorporates Pre-Natal, Myofascial release, reflexology, TMJ and Migraine massage into her practice. Having spent the past two years working for a Chiropractor, Nicole is familiar working within a clients limits due to pain or injury. Nicole does not approach Massage as a one size fits all process and creates an individual session for every client based on their needs and concerns. If you are coming for Massage to decrease stress, work on ailments or simply relaxation, Nicole believes open communication is the key to a successful realtionship between herself and each client. The best gift we can give ourselves is good health. Good health takes work and committment but does not need to be difficult and a great first step is massage. The process of Massage increases circulation, releases tired or stiff muscles while improving mood and a general sense of well being. Believing that mind and body are all working together and if we feel good practices physically we also will feel good mentally Nicole knows Massage is a key ingredient.
Nicole also offers Thai Yoga Massage. Thai Yoga Massage is where the client changes into loose, comfortable clothes and lies on table typical of a massage. The client may be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the massage, but deep static and rhythmic pressures form the core of the massage. Nicole leans on the client using hands and usually straight forearms locked at the elbow to apply firm rhythmic pressure. The massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body—somewhat analogous to meridians or channels and Indian nadis. A full Thai massage session can last for 90 minutes but we do offer them in 60 minute versions. Rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body; this may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking the knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, and arching the recipient into bhujangasana (or cobra position). There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the massage, which Nicole will adjust to fit each individual client.
